About the teacher: Hongsie is the founder of and teacher at Bora Forró. As she is following and leading, she understands the techniques and movements from both sides, which is not only creating a memorable dance experience but also helping her greatly as a teacher. In her classes she aims for easy to understand instructions with fun metaphors. Hongsie is half German and half Native American. Because of her Native American heritage she has been dancing and listening to the rhythm of drums since she was little over one year old. This has helped her greatly with her musicality in forró which is also what sets her apart and sticks most with her dance partners (leading or following).
About the School: Bora Forró was born back in Edinburgh were one of our teachers, Hongsie, started her teaching journey for the first time back in 2016. Which is also we are called “Bora Forró” from Edin-Bora Forró. We know – genius! In 2017, Hongsie moved to Amsterdam where she then continued to teach.
